Monday Mingle: Spring Capsule Wardrobe

spring style

I’ve created 10 fresh spring outfits out of 10 pieces of spring clothing to create a capsule wardrobe. Most of the clothing is under $100 and some of it I already owned. The idea is to build a wardrobe the mixes and matches and works for you. Today’s outfit features:

AG denim skirtOlive Tank | hoodie cardigan | boots

To review, here are the ten pieces:

Do you already own some of these? I bet you do. I tried to make denim a big part of this capsule, thinking that most women already own these pieces. Last week, outfit #1 used the same tank plus the black jeans.

This week, I’m introducing the perfect denim skirt from AG. Denim is very practical for me–I need clothes that are versatile and sturdy–motherhood is messy at times. It’s not too long and not too short. It’s got a bit of an a-line to make it easy to walk in (and also flattering on the backside). I added a cardigan that I found at Calypso to the outfit because spring in NYC means wildly fluctuating weather.

The pom-poms on this top make it young and fresh. Since I’m always cold inside it’s a must have for me.

The fun part of capsule dressing is the ease and then the chance to play with accessories. I added my favorite booties and a cool belt to make this a little more trendy. The booties are everywhere this season, I hope you jump on this trend. As for the belt, this one I found in Paris a while back, but I do find great belts at Anthropologie too. I like buying belts when I travel since they have memories attached and are easy to bring home.

Are you loving this more is less trend? Do you want to create a capsule of your own? It’s ideal for simplifying things in the morning and for travel.
